The Oscars is a huge event that millions of people tune into watch. This year Jimmy Fallon hosted it, and was very humourous by making fun of Matt Damon almost the whole show. The event went very well with some exciting performances. There were five performances. One was by Auli’i Cravalho and Lin-Manuel Miranda who performed “How Far I’ll Go”.  Another was by Justin Timberlake who performed “Cant Stop the Feeling”.  Another was Sting who performed “The Empty Chair”. Also John Legend performed “Audition” and “City of Dreams”. Finally Sara Bareilles performed a song during the memoriam tribute. Here is some of the major awards that were given out.

Best Picture-  Moonlight

Best Actor- Casey Affleck (Manchester by the Sea)

Best Actress- Emma Stone (La La Land)

Best Animated Film-  Zootopia

Best Documentary Feature- OJ: Made in America

Best Director- Damien Chazelle (La La Land)

Best Visual Effects- The Jungle Book
