Back in October, I wrote a story about Pottermore opening that month. One week later after that story came out, I was checking the insider blogs for information on the release. During my search, I saw that they had pushed the release to April. After having a moment of rage for them not releasing this information before the paper came out, I waited patiently.
Now that Pottermore has come out, I can officially say that I am a happy Potterhead. The site is very beautiful and shows Harry Potter’s story using the book, rather than the movies. The scenes shown are not entirely different from the movie but you can tell that it was more like J.K. Rowling painted the picture herself.
However, the site does have its flaws. Now that the site is open to the public it can be slow loading sometimes. There are also certain things on the site that require taking a couple hours or so of your time. For example- if you want to make a Forgetfulness Potion, it will take about 56 minutes to brew. (Even if you use the faster speed cauldron. Also like I wrote in the previous story, there isn’t much to do with interaction of others playing on the site. You can add your friends, send them gifts, duel and see how far they’ve gotten, but that limits the interaction. And lastly, the most disappointing thing about the site is that you can only go through The Philosopher’s Stone, the other books aren’t even on the site yet.
Overall, the site is pretty fun and very cool! If you are a true Harry Potter fan, this site is definitely one that you should join. We can all relive the magic together again.
