This weekend I tried out a new restaurant in Lawrence, Kansas, called The Burger Stand. Upon entering the restaurant you are greeted with a really fun atmosphere. One of the first things I noticed was that there was a different way of ordering than I had seen in a while. After walking into the restaurant, you get in line and there is a bar right next to you with bundles of menus that you can browse through while waiting. There are three floors in the restaurant and you can sit in booth or tables throughout each one. You can tell it is a very popular restaurant because there is a big line and people walking through the door.

While waiting in line and looking through the menu my eyes were caught at the bottom of the page, they serve truffle fries. I was so excited, being that truffle fries are one of my favorites. The restaurant offers gluten free and vegan options and that probably helps out their popularity. I ordered a plain cheeseburger with a gluten free bun and a basket of truffle fries. They have an abundance of sauces for you to choose from. What I decided to get was a garlic aioli sauce which is meant to go with the truffle fries.

When your food is ready they will call your name and you walk up to the kitchen counter and retrieve your food. The food smelled lovely and I couldn’t wait to take a bite. The burger tasted amazing with the cheddar cheese and aioli sauce. Although, I was kind of disappointed with the gluten free bun because it ended up getting really soggy and started to fall apart, that is to be expected with some gluten free buns at different restaurants. My expectations were blown out of the water with the truffle fries, as they were incredible and probably the best ones I have ever had.

All in all, I would give the service a 9/10 and the food a 10/10, I definitely would recommend this place to anyone who finds themselves in Lawrence anytime soon. It was a little on the pricier side for a burger joint but I would say it was definitely worth the money.
