One of many students’ favorite things about BV West are the assemblies. It’s a time and a place where everyone can come together to celebrate our activities and our school.
“It makes West different from all the other Blue Valley schools,” said senior and JPCo member Caroline Schaffer. “It allows us to invest and enjoy high school experience rather than just suffer for four years.”
Assemblies are very symbolic for BV West.
“Everyone gets excited and has school spirit,” said freshman Megan Fritz.
No matter the grade, Jaguars express appreciation for the opportunities assemblies bring.
“You can feel the energy everywhere you look, it really brings BV West to life. I am so excited for the underclassmen to feel that energy because it’s something that you only get for four years,” Schaffer said.
Although all grades seem to agree that assemblies make our school special, they work with pride to beat the others at the end of the events with their class cheer.
“The class chant is my favorite thing about the assemblies. It gets really competitive so it makes it an even bigger deal,” Fritz said.
BV West assemblies are a symbolic part of high school. Future assemblies are yet to be scheduled as COVID protocols and weather makes it difficult for Student Council and the Jaguar Pride Coalition to plan.
