2021 Top Halloween Candy Picks

Teen trick or treaters still have favorites they hope to find in their bags

Hanna Lee Willeford, Guest Writer

If you are anything like me, you love Halloween because you LOVE candy. Halloween is
not only known as a scary fun day to dress up to be anything at all, but also a day where parents let kids stuff their faces with candy.

Some of the most popular candies this year are: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Skittles, M&M’s, Starburst, Hot Tamales, Sour Patch Kids, Hershey’s Kisses, Snickers, Tootsie Pops, and Candy Corn. Other favorites include: Kit Kats, Nerds, Butterfingers, and Twix.

Reese’s Peanut Butter cups have not only taken over First Place as THE top candy in the United States but also in the individual states of Kansas, California, Florida, Wyoming, North Carolina, and Kentucky.

As much as people love looking in their bag at the end of the night to see what candy they got, there are some candies that most people don’t get excited about. Those are the one kids try to trade away or leave to go stale in the bottom of their halloween bag. These candies are often: candy corn, circus peanuts, peanut butter kisses, Smarties, Necco wafers, wax coke bottles, Mary Janes, Tootsie rolls (yes, they’re on both lists), Good & Plenty, and lastly, black Licorice.

Have a good Halloween, Jags, be safe and have fun!
