Students and community members wonder each year how the BV West football team will stack up. No matter the interest level in the sport, the games bring out thousands of fans to enjoy the Friday Night Lights.

The Jaguars earned a single win in 2017 and hope to improve. With a win on Homecoming night, Sept. 14, they now have motivation for the rest of the season. Impact players are headlined by junior David Brown, and seniors Cooper Wilson, and Tyler Logsdon. Logsdon shared his thoughts on the rest of the season.

Q: “How will the team go about winning more games this year?”

A: “Working harder in practice. We spent a lot of time in the weight room, practice field and with each other during the summer.”

Q: “Was St. James a difficult game? Can you explain?”

A: “Difficult, for sure, because they should have won against Mill Valley and we should have too.”

Q: “The halls and stands are buzzing about the Riddle brothers. Who will have more playing time, Greg Riddle or his sophomore brother, Scott?

A: “Greg will start QB and Scott might play running back. Their competition for QB only makes everybody better.”

Q: “Will your next game be a fun one to watch?

A: “Yes, it is going to be a great game to watch. We’ve got great leadership and some fun plays.”

Q: “Is everyone healthy?”

A: “I wish. Unfortunately, there have been a few injuries. Riley Cummings, Logan (Ritter), DaJean (Price) and Ben (Freeman) are injured. We miss those guys but we’ve got other weapons.”
