This year the girls are coming off of a very improved season.  Two years ago was a less than stellar season for the Jaguars but last year they turned it around and made some very impressive strides going 10-11.  A big part of this success is the addition of Coach Matt Adams.  Coach Adams has done wonders for the Jaguar basketball program and looks to continue his great coaching this season.

“Coach has really been great.”  Senior Nneoma Wamkpah said.  “He stresses defense and fundamentals and allows everyone to play to their strengths. He is a very patient and understanding coach.”

The Jaguars will look to their seniors for leadership this season as they aim to go to the state tournament.  Many steps will have to be taken to reach this goal and the Jaguars will have to go through a very tough EKL schedule to get a good seed going in to sub-state.  This is key to decide how their postseason will play out.

“Senior leadership is very important this year and we’re lucky to have the four that we do.  Allison Knight, Jenna Shaw, Jackie Lybarger and myself.”  Said senior Nneoma Wamkpah. “Most of us on the team have been playing together for a long time so we work well together. Our leadership will help the younger team members stay poised and gain knowledge since we play a lot of tough teams.”
