BVW Girls Basketball First Win of the Season

Coach Richard Strecker led the girls basketball team to their first win in as many games on Thursday, Nov. 30 against Lawrence Free State. The Lady Jags defeated the Firebirds 43-34 in the first home game of the season. 

Senior Brook Lansford led all scores with 18 points. (Other BV West scores: Holmes-14, Strombom-5, Pittman-4, Fancher-2.) The C Team also won their season opener.

The team followed up their non-conference win by notching another at Shawnee Mission South on Saturday, Dec. 2 51-49. Lansford again dominated the boards with 22 points followed by 8 points for Kansas Wesleyan commit senior Lauren Flowers with 8. (Other scores: Holmes-6, Fancher-5, Longhofer-4, Forcellini-2, Strombom-2, Bandre-2.)

The junior varsity and C teams have games against Olathe East and Olathe South on Monday and Wednesday before the varsity team travels to southeast Missouri to compete in the Joplin Tournament.
