A Day To Remember: What Separates Me From You (Victory Records)
Released: Nov. 16th
A Day To Remember is a post-hardcore band hailing from Florida. They are most well-known for their 3rd album, Homesick, released in October 2008, and their song “The Downfall Of Us All” has been all over Fuse Television, as well as on the iTunes Top 100 Alternative Chart since its release. Their newest album, What Separates Me From You, sums up their range of music extremely well. The album consists of a song range, from post-hardcore metal,
like the song “2nd Sucks”, to pop punk: the first single off the album “All I Want”. Other great songs include “It’s Complicated” and “You Be Tails, I’ll Be Sonic”. This album is a definite “worth-it” buy for music lovers.
Rihanna: Loud (Def Jam Records)
Released: Nov. 16th
People all over know Rihanna as one of today’s biggest pop stars in the world. Her newest album, Loud, continues to show off her sing-along-in-the-car pop songs, especially the hit single “Only Girl (In The World)”. However, the most surprising song off of her new album is “Love The Way You Lie (Part II)” the “sequel” to Eminem’s “Love The Way You Lie”, in which she sang the chorus. It is a truly heartfelt song; the feeling in her voice is heard and discovered, unlike many pop stars today. He raps at the end of her “Love The Way You Lie”.
My Chemical Romance: Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys (Reprise Records)
Released: Nov. 22nd
MCR has been one of the most well-known rock bands for the past decade. “Danger Days”, their newest album, is different from their rest. MCR has been known for their slighty dark, emotional songs. However “Na Na Na”, off the album, is somewhat upbeat and extremely catchy. This change isn’t a bad thing, though. It’s a lot like the other tracks on the album, including “The Only Hope For Me Is You”. The track is rock with a bit of a techno beat in the intro. Overall, this album is worth time, and money.
Ke$ha: Cannibal (RCA Records)
Released: Nov. 22nd
The woman behind the hit songs “TiK TOK” and “Your Love Is My Drug”, Ke$ha, is back in action. She still keeps her party all night attitudes and stuck in your head beats. The song “We R Who We R” also has another meaning. According to VH1 music, she wrote it for teenagers to “be free with their lives” and to pay tribute to the many suicides of gay, lesbian, and bisexual people who are afraid of who they are. Hence the title. Ke$ha lets out her soft side in the acoustic-like song, “Goodbye”, which is a song some would never expect from her.
