Football Season Begins in Lawrence
Varsity football drops first game to Lawrence 14-35

The first football game of the season was held under the lights at Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Kan. The Jaguars quickly fell behind the Chesty Lions who scored one touchdown in the first quarter and three in the second. The half-time score was 0-28.
The Jags came back in the third quarter by outscoring Lawrence 14-7. Both teams were scoreless in the fourth quarter, making the final score 14-35.
Senior Cole Richenburg scored the first touchdown for BV West off of an eleven yard pass from senior Nathan Wiles. The second touchdown saw Wiles take the ball over the goal line on a one yard run. Paul Wolff connected on both of the point after kicks.
Up next for the Jags is Blue Valley on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. at the District Athletic Complex (135th & Antioch).
